Fiance(e) visas are valid for 6 months. Once the relationship has been formalised through marriage or civil partnership, the applicant can switch to a Partner visa. The Start-up Visa category is reserved for early-stage, high potential entrepreneurs starting a business in Britain for the first time.

Extension of this visa
An applicant can only stay in the UK for 2 years on a Start-up visa. No extension is permitted on this visa.

This visa entitles you to stay in the UK for an initial period of 3 years, with a possibility of an extension of your visa for an additional 2 years which must be done before your visa expires. This visa also allows you the opportunity to apply for permission to settle permanently in the UK after 5 years of being in the country.

To apply separately, you’ll need to know what kind of permission to stay in the UK (Limited leave to remain) your parent has.
You may not need a family visa if at least one of your parents has indefinite leave to remain or proof of permanent residence.
